Air Dryers

Membrane Dryers

Compact point-of-use drying where dew point suppression is required for localised compressed air applications.

Operating Principle

Membrane Dryers

Membrane dryers operate on dew point suppression and are commonly applied to lower-flow point-of-use requirements.

Lower dew point targets typically require either upstream refrigerated drying or significant membrane oversizing.

  • Point-of-use low-flow applications
  • Dew point suppression operation
  • Can require upstream drying for lower dew points

Maintenance and Protection

Maintenance and Protection

Membrane elements are contamination-sensitive and rely on robust pre-filtration.

Membrane dryers are not serviceable: if contaminated by oil or liquid water, the unit requires replacement.

Like heatless desiccant dryers, membrane units consume purge air during operation, so system design should account for this.

  • Strong pre-filtration is essential
  • Replace-on-contamination behaviour
  • Purge air consumption during operation
  • Best suited to defined point-of-use duty
